Inspire Future Gryphons!

Your content and creativity may help a prospective student decide to choose the University of Guelph and live in residence.

Build your Resume!

Joining the Content Creation Team is a great way to gain experience in content creation and social marketing. You’ll gain valuable skills that can be applied to future job opportunities.

Have fun!

This team will be dynamic, engaging, and incredibly rewarding. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with other students across campus.

The ideal candidates for these positions will be:

Creative: We want you to be able to help pick out trends and find ways to apply them to our marketing department. Candidates must use social media frequently.

Committed: Although the role is low commitment (~2 hours a week), we expect that you will stay engaged through the entire semester.

Passionate: You should LOVE living in residence and want to show that passion to others!

Independent: The role will involve collaboration through team meetings; however, you will also be responsible for individual assignments to complete. Time management is key!

How it works:

Virtual Residence Ambassadors will be responsible for creating a wide variety of digital content, including:

  • Instagram Reels/TikToks (day in the life, what I eat in a day, best spots to study, how I use academic resources, other trends, etc.)
  • Instagram Stories (ask me anything, residence tours, etc.)
  • Residence Photoshoots & Virtual Room Tours
  • Videos (how to do laundry, complete a check-out, etc.)

The role focuses primarily on TikTok and short video promotion, with other opportunities being assigned on an as-needed basis.

Content ideas will be developed in collaboration with the Student Coordinator, Integrated Marketing and Communications. Creators are expected to assist in the brainstorming of content ideas during monthly meetings and must live in residence for the duration of the program.

Compensation is based on participation measured in credits. Typically, participation in one activity will earn one credit, however, larger-scale projects may earn multiple credits for a single assignment. Creators may choose their involvement level based on availability and interest in desired content.
