Living on campus is a highly desired option for our DVM students for convenience and affordability.

Residence Priority

We are confident that the University will be able to offer on-campus housing to first-year students who apply and pay their residence deposit by the June 3 deadline.

International undergraduate students (including DVM students) who will be attending the University of Guelph for the first time, are guaranteed on-campus housing as long as you apply and pay the residence deposit by June 3, 2024.

For all other domestic DVM students, if demand exceeds supply, a lottery system will be used to allocate spaces. Students will be advised by Mid-June, if they have received a space in residence.

Housing options for DVM students are:

University Houses -- Five single detached houses on the northern edge of the main campus.  Each house consists of single bedroom accommodation with shared living room, kitchen, dining area and washroom.

West Residence  --  Located at 78 College Avenue behind OVC, West Residence is a 3-bedroom townhouse, offering single bedroom accommodation with shared living room, kitchen, dining area and washroom.

East Village Townhouses -- located on the main campus near the Athletic Centre and the Arboretum, our East Village community offers a single bedroom with shared living room, kitchen, dining area and washrooms.

These locations are part of our two-semester Residence Contract and accommodation in subsequent years is not guaranteed.  Campus residence rooms are fully furnished with a standard twin bed, dresser/wardrobe and desk, as well as living room and dining room furniture and appliances (fridge and stove).  Residents are responsible to bring their own cooking supplies, linens and bedding, and personal items.
