Living on campus is a highly desired option for our graduate students for convenience and affordability.

All International graduate students, with the exception of PhD candidates, beginning their studies in Fall 2024, are guaranteed University housing for the duration of their academic endeavors at U of G.*  International PhD students are guaranteed University housing for the first year of their studies.

First year graduate student applicants who reside within Canada will be entered into a graduate student lottery, and will receive a waitlist number or an offer of residence (pending availability).

The deadline for all graduate student applicants is June 2, 2025.

* Note:  Individuals must be registered as full-time students to remain eligible for residence.

Housing options for graduate students are:

University Houses -- Five single detached houses on the northern edge of the main campus.  Each house consists of single bedroom accommodation with shared living room, kitchen, dining area and washroom.

West Residence  --  Located at 78 College Avenue behind OVC, West Residence is a 3-bedroom townhouse, offering single bedroom accommodation with shared living room, kitchen, dining area and washroom.

East Village Townhouses -- Located on the main campus near the Arboretum, East Village consists of mostly four bedroom townhouses, offering single bedroom accommodation with shared washroom, kitchen, dining and living area.

These locations are part of our two-semester Residence Contract and accommodation in subsequent years is not guaranteed.  Our University Houses and West Residence rooms are fully furnished with a standard twin bed, dresser/wardrobe and desk, as well as living room and dining room furniture and appliances (fridge and stove).  Residents are responsible to bring their own cooking supplies, linens and bedding, and personal items.
