What is Commuter Residence?

If you need to be on campus late at night or early in the morning or have limited in-person class requirements, the Commuter Residence option might be just what you need. Commuter Residence is intended for occasional use.  Commuter Residence is availabe until April 25th, 2022.

Commuter residence is offered in our East Village townhouses.  All commuter rooms are SINGLE rooms, with shared living room, dining room and kitchen, and a 2:1 washroom ratio.  East Village is served by our East Residence Desk (located in Dundas Hall) and Eastsides store for groceries and packaged meals.


What is the cost and what does it include?

The flat rate per night is $60.00. This rate includes accommodation, linens (excluding towels) and ResNet WiFi access. HST is included in the rate. Your accommodation can be paid in the same way as your other student fees, charges will be posted to your student account following your stay.


Can I use commuter residence to hang out with friends?

Commuter residence is intended for students to stay on campus to support academic success and safety - for students who have an academic reason to be on campus, to access facilities, labs, or face-to-face course requirements. No guests are permitted in Commuter Residence. All students living in our Commuter Residence must agree to abide by the Commuter Residence Community Standards.


How do I reserve a room?

It's simple. Just fill in the Commuter Residence Reservation Form on the Housing Portal. We will contact you to confirm your booking.

Applications are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. We cannot guarantee in advance that we can accommodate all requests. A maximum of three consecutive nights in a one week period is permitted.
