Student Housing Services – Residence Admissions
Part-time (approx. 5 hours per week) November 2018 – March 2019
Student Housing Services (Admissions and Marketing) is seeking a University of Guelph residence student, for part-time employment, November 2018 through March 2019. Hours are flexible and can accommodate academic priorities.
The position will be responsible for assisting the Residence Admissions area with marketing and recruitment activities, including, but not limited to: producing social media content, liaising with Residence Ambassadors, photography content for Student Housing communications and recruitment materials, website and social media and assisting the Residence Admissions Team during campus recruitment events such as Fall Preview Day (November 4), Science and Engineering Sunday (November 11) and Campus Day (March 2019).
This position is perfect for an independent and highly-creative student who excels in various multi-media platforms. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, photography skills, videography skills, and social media applications (Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate, through examples of previoius work, that he/she can translate abstract ideas and the “student experience” into digital format.
The incumbent will have access to appropriate software and a work station located in the Student Housing office if required, or can use his/her own software and equipment. Out-of-office work can be expected when attending residence activities, and is flexible according to the student’s schedule.
Remuneration is in accordance with University and Student Housing guidelines for student staff at an hourly rate of $15.50. The term of employment for this position is November 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019.
