Student Housing Services – Residence Admissions

 

Part-time (approx. 5 – 10 hours per week) October 2017 – April 2018

 

 

Student Housing Services (Admissions and Marketing) is seeking a University of Guelph residence student, for part-time employment, October 2017 through April 2018,

The position will be responsible for producing high-quality, leading edge and relevant photography, video, animation and content for Student Housing communications and recruitment materials, website and social media.  The position further involves acting as a student “correspondent” attending occasional residence events and activities.

 

Deliverables during the employment contract period include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Photography and videography of residence life activities, amenities, and facilities
  • Website graphics and enhanced design features for new SHS website
  • Social media graphics (photo, video or animation) and content for use on multiple platforms
  • Assistance with production of new SHS recruitment banners, and other marketing materials

 

This position is perfect for an independent and highly-creative student who excels in various multi-media platforms.  The successful candidate will have working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere (or equivalent), Adobe Photoshop, photography skills, videography skills, and social media applications (Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)   The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate, through a portfolio of work, that he/she can translate abstract ideas and the “student experience” into digital format. 

The incumbent will have access to appropriate software and a work station located in the Student Housing office if required, or can use his/her own software and equipment.  Out-of-office work can be expected when attending residence activities, and is flexible according to the student’s schedule.

Remuneration is in accordance with University and Student Housing guidelines for student staff at an hourly rate of $13.00.  The term of employment for this position is October 2017 through April 15, 2018.
